Study NT led delegation to Vietnam and the Philippines

Study NT led delegation to Vietnam and the Philippines

The Northern Territory Government, through Study NT, led an international education and training delegation to Vietnam and the Philippines in early November. The delegation, was comprised of Government representatives from Study NT, Tourism NT and MigrationNT and Territory international education and training providers, visiting Ho Chi Minh and Manila.

The delegation was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister, the Hon Nicole Manison MLA in Vietnam and the Minister for International Education, the Hon Ngaree Ah Kit MLA in the Philippines. This visit was the first Australian ministerial delegation to the Philippines since the pandemic.

Northern Territory education and training providers that joined the delegation were:

Study NT and the delegation held six events across the two countries aimed at attracting international students to study in Australia's Northern Territory. Nearly 300 students, parents and education agents attended these events, learning more about the lifestyle, work opportunities, scholarships and our quality international education providers.

Delegate, Felicity Pearson, Deputy Principal, Haileybury Rendall School has reflected on the trip, saying “Study NT provided a wonderful opportunity for secondary schools in Darwin to reinvigorate their connections with South East Asia post-COVID. International students are a critical part of the fabric of NT schools if we are to truly reflect our multicultural context, particularly in Darwin, and this trip was timely.

The support of Study NT and their teams over the week-long trip was invaluable. They enabled NT schools and institutions to meaningfully connect with one other and to engage with organisations and institutions abroad. The learnings gained will certainly allow better strategies to be developed around supporting international students back to the NT, further enhancing two-way learning and stimulating growth in the Territory.”
